Product release: v1.1 of Enterprise Configuration Utility - RVecu

RVecu provides a configuration management framework and administration application which vastly simplifies the deployment and management of TIBCO's TIB/RV middleware throughout global enterprises.
Global TIB systems use TIBCO's Rendezvous Routing Daemon (RVRD) to route data between TIB/RV networks via wide area networks that are not IP multicast enabled. Traditional RVRD configuration management can become unwieldy, time consuming and error prone as the complexity of the RVRD network increases. In some cases, tens and occasionally hundreds of RVRDs are deployed, each of which needs individual configuration via a browser interface.
RVecu, aimed at TIB system administrators, simplifies the management of the RVRD's by providing enterprise level configuration management and deployment, with a centralised configuration database and GUI management tool. As well as reducing the opportunities for human error, RVecu enables a full audit trail of configuration changes to be maintained.
RVecu is a Java application which gathers remote RVRD configurations into a consolidated XML representation, provides a powerful configuration management GUI to administrators, and enables the automated deployment of saved configurations across an enterprise. The RVecu GUI enables administrators to view and edit the configuration data in a much simpler format than provided by the existing RVRD browser interface.
Having developed the core RVecu tool for clients with complex RVRD deployments, TS-Associates is now committed to developing value added functionality. Planned features include allowing administrators to define special RVRD relationships such as fault-tolerant and neighbour pairs, which will be automatically matched prior to deployment. RVecu also enables fully functional testing of new configurations to be performed on different RVRD service ports prior to production deployment.
